Many traditional banks allow you to link external accounts, like your HausMoney account, within their online banking platforms. This can provide a consolidated view of your finances and often enables transfers between the linked accounts.
For security purposes, most banks require manual verification for linking external accounts, which involves small "trial" deposits.
What you'll need:
Your HausMoney account number.
Your HausMoney routing number.
Access to your external bank's (Chase, Wells Fargo, etc.) online banking or mobile app.
Estimated Time: 2-3 business days for the verification deposits to appear, plus a few minutes to complete the linking process.
Here's how to do it:
Step 1: Gather Your HausMoney Account Details
First, you'll need your HausMoney account and routing numbers.
Open the HausMoney app and log in to your account.
Tap on the HausMoney Card image
Tap on Card Details.
Locate and make note of your HausMoney account number and routing number. You'll need these for the next step.
Step 2: Initiate the Linking Process in Your External Bank's Online Banking
Log in to your external bank's (e.g., Chase, Wells Fargo) online banking portal or mobile app.
Look for a section related to "Transfers," "External Accounts," "Link Accounts," "Add External Account," or "Money Movement." The exact phrasing can vary significantly between banks.
Common locations:
Within the "Transfers" or "Payments" menu.
Under "Settings" or "Manage Accounts."
On your main dashboard, sometimes labeled "Add an External Account."
Select the option to add an external account manually
IMPORTANT NOTE: You will not use instant verification options like Plaid here, as HausMoney often requires manual verification when being linked externally).
You will be prompted to enter the details of the external account you wish to link.
Carefully enter your HausMoney routing number and HausMoney account number that you gathered in Step 1.
You may also need to select the account type (e.g., Checking or Savings – HausMoney is typically a checking account).
Confirm the details and submit your request. Your external bank will typically inform you that they will send two small "trial" deposits to the HausMoney account to verify ownership.
Step 3: Wait for the Verification Deposits in Your HausMoney Account
After you initiate the linking process with your external bank, they will send two small, random deposits (usually a few cents each) to your HausMoney account.
These deposits typically appear within 1-2 business days.
Keep an eye on your HausMoney transaction history (in the HausMoney app) for these two small deposits. They will usually have a description from your external bank, such as "CHASE VERIFY," "WELLS FARGO DEPOSIT," or similar.

Step 4: Verify the Deposits in Your External Bank's Online Banking
Once you see the two small deposits in your HausMoney account, log back into your external bank's online banking platform.
Go back to the "External Accounts" or "Transfers" section where you initiated the linking process.
You should see your pending HausMoney account listed, with an option to "Verify" or "Confirm Deposits."
Enter the exact amounts of the two small deposits you received into your HausMoney account (e.g., if you received $0.07 and $0.23, you would enter "0.07" and "0.23").
Submit the verification.
Step 5: Your HausMoney Account is Linked!
If the amounts you entered match the deposits, your HausMoney account will be successfully linked to your external bank account!
You should receive a confirmation message from your external bank. You can now initiate transfers to and from your HausMoney account directly within your external bank's online banking platform.
Important Notes:
Transfer Limits: Your external bank may have daily or per-transaction limits for transfers to external accounts. Check their policies for details.
Processing Times: While linking is quick once deposits are received, transfers between banks can take 1-3 business days to fully process.
Incorrect Information: If you enter incorrect account or routing numbers, or if you fail to verify the deposit amounts correctly, the linking process may fail, and you might need to start over or contact your external bank's support.
If you have any questions about linking an external account to your specific bank, please contact their customer support directly for the most accurate guidance.
